Interactive Health Solutions HIPAA Compliance
What is HIPAA?
HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) is a legislative process containing privacy regulations requiring that access to patient information be limited to only those authorized, and that only the information necessary for a task be available to them. Personal health information must be protected and kept confidential.
How is Interactive Health Solutions HIPAA Compliant?
Interactive Health Solutions has been offering health evaluations for over 18 years. The main purpose of HIPAA is confidentiality of medical records, which is something that Interactive Health Solutions has been sensitive to since its inception.
Interactive Health Solutions currently stores all medical records on computers that are extremely secure. Medical records include Personal Information, Lab Reports, EKGs, and Medical Histories. Access to these records beyond the patient are available only to Interactive Health Solutions physicians as well as office staff that physically sorts and processes results packets for mailing. Personal information is collected from the patient, by phone, from a small call center staff consisting of Interactive Health Solutions' employees located at our headquarters in Arlington Heights, IL.
All Interactive Health Solutions employees are required to abide by the rules and regulations of HIPAA.
Patient access to Medical Records is only allowed by use of a patient-defined User Name and Password defined during the registration process on interactivehs.com. interactivehs.com is secured by Secure Sockets Layer encryption using 128-bit encryption with 1024-bit keys. All traffic between our servers and the patient's web browser is encrypted.
