The Toughest Standards
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) evaluates, accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. The NCQA seal is a widely recognized symbol indicating that an institution is well managed and delivers high quality care and service. Organizations displaying it passed a rigorous, comprehensive review and annual performance report to earn an accreditation.
Interactive Health Solutions (IHS) is one of those organizations. It is one of only 16 companies initially surveyed under NCQA’s new Wellness & Health Promotion Accreditation and among the first five to receive accreditation. This evaluation program helps employers and others compare wellness programs using standardized results and select a wellness program with demonstrated value and quality.
The NCQA accreditation validates how well IHS’ incentive-based population health management programs provide the tools that allow clients and their associates to reduce healthcare costs, take control and improve their health. Seventy percent of all medical expenses can be avoided through early detection and lifestyle changes combined with the most effective treatment.
In fact, in 2008 IHS calculates that the top performing organizations among its 1,200 clients spent on average $1,200 less per employee on annual healthcare costs, and presenteeism rates (employees at work but not performing) were 22 percent lower than non-program participants.
IHS is proud to be a pioneer in assuring the highest standards and quality of employer wellness programs. Visit the NCQA web site at www.NCQA.org to learn more.
